Eman, I had mine done at the dealership, so it naturally will be more expensive. I had them do it so I would have some recourse if something went wrong.

My discounted price was $300.

Is the above price labor only, or parts & labor ?

Alignment is like 70-80 or so - so like 400 for the install - @ dealer prices that's about right- you might be able to find a shop to do it cheaper.

You should do alignment later on anyways. New springs take a few weeks to settle.

Thank you all for your feedback! Hey Teddybear, are you suggesting that I drive the car for a while prior to realignemen? Does anyone else have an opinion on that? My car goes in for spring install on Friday...

Yep, that's exactly what im saying. It's the general rule of thumb when lowering, unless u want to do it twice (which some people do).

Keep in mind springs might settle a little faster if ur not swapping the shocks too. But waiting a few wks wouldn't hurt.

My Civic settled after about 3-5 weeks after lowering. They settled by about 1/8" in my case.

I recommended you order you the rear camber kit. I lower mine 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD with Tech myself and i had to order the rear camber kit. The front was sitting at -1 degree and the rear was -4 degree after i install the spring which was -1.2 in front and -1 in rear so i just order the rear only and did the alignment on it and set all 4 wheels to -1 degree for handling but if you going for looks then you should order you front and rear so it can be back to factory setting which is -.5 degree but just a a little different not much unless you wanna spend 175.00 more for the front + install if you don't know how to do it yourself. But make sure you get camber and springs and do it at the same time so they both can settle in because i install my springs and after i notice my rear camber was sitting in to much i order the rear and i was driving around for a week and install the rear camber a week after i install spring and next day i went to get a alignment and about a week later i notice my handle wasn't good so i took it back and the alignment was off so now everything is perfect so good luck my fellow TL owner and enjoy. any question just PM me and if i can help out i will..

Thanks Azngster! I would like my car back at, or close to factory setting after the springs are installed. I'm installing the H&R sport springs (part#50107), your the first and only person suggesting a camber kit for this application...

Just called H&R directly. They told me that their sport springs do not require a camber kit for my car, and that these particular springs will not sag. They suggest I have the realignment done at the same time as the install. Anyone with a 4G TL AWD with these springs installed please advise..

EMAN, I didn't buy my rear camber kit until my car was re-aligned. It didn't need the camber kit that bad, but I went ahead and got it anyway....just to be safe.

Stealership won't do it unless you buy the springs from them at the outrageously marked-up price (150% in most cases).

stiffer.... the SH-AWD is already a slightly stiff suspension (compared to FWD)... the ride is a bit more stiffer/jarring...You will notice it right away, but honestly, its not terrible....

Coilovers are generally bouncy/softer.

$200-$250 is a common price. Some places will include alignment, others might not

Some years back, my dealership was more than happy to install aftermarket shocks/springs/sway-bars for my 2G TL-S.

The only catch was that the dealership wouldn't give any warranty on the aftermarket parts, which I thought was very reasonable.

It was like I supplied the parts and the dealership charged me the labour work. Why not ?

Lotta ppl will say they can't "guarantee their work" if you don't buy from them.
Sorta makes sense for some things....

H&R Springs are installed. Initial impression very positive. Noticed a major improvement over stock immediately. Besides the obvious visual improvement, the car corners much better, responds to quick lane chenges better, way less body roll, and less squating under braking. The ride is very nice, a little stiffer, but very comfortable, not jarring by any means. Well worth the investment. I highly recommend as the first upgrade to a 4G TL. I'm sure the Tein coilovers take it to the next level, but for my needs as a daily driver (let's face it, these aren't exactly track-day cars) this is perfect..

Congrats EMAN-I'm glad your initial first impression is a positive one.

Teddybear, I did mine at the dealership so I would have some recourse if something goes wrong. I trust my dealership, they treat me very well. I know that if I wasn't happy with something, I could take my car back and they would take care of it.

That is a very good feeling.

I was at the dealer today to have my bodykit installed and while there I ask the parts desk how much for the h&r springs.

He says 369.95...Whoa!! ...I say you know they are 205 plus shipping on tire rack.
So after some back and forth he agrees on 230 plus tax.

I ask how much for install....299.95....again after some back and forth we agree on 230 plus tax.

The dealer did a excellent job on the body kit install. Lynnwood is by far the most professional dealer I have been too. They do fantastic work and have great prices.

Also no alignment and the car drives pure and straight.

Today was a good day...body kit and car lowered.

Needless to say the drive back from seattle to vancouver was a bit faster and way more fun.

Eman2012 is right...the car handles much better and you do not sacrifice too much in terms of ride quality.

I must thank all the guys/girls on this forum. A wealth of knowledge and if it wasn't for you people I would be rolling in a stock TL.

Up next..hopefully Jpipe and excelerate exhaust.

Hey audi_to_TL, how much did the dealer chsrge you for the body kit and install? I paid $205 for the springs at Tirerack. Teddybear, figure out your driveway situation and get your car lowered, it totally changes the dynamics of the TL for the better!!

I can in my civic, it's lowered by close to 2". 00 ek. actually, in the ek i can go straight out w/o scraping.
in the TL, if i go straight out on stock height, i'll scrape the little flap under the front bumper....

so even if i angle, i have a feeling i might be scraping if i angle more than 45deg, which i dont have room for. the prob is the distance from the wheel to the end of the front bumper is so much. if it was shorter like a BMW, i wouldn't have an issue.

My ek.
