Question expected miles on the HPT stock Michelins?

Hello. I got the Sport Package B on my new TL which comes with the 19" Diamond Cut 10 spoke wheels. The tires are summer rubber by Michelin (cannot recall the specs off hand).

Anyone know what I might expect to rack up in mileage before I have to change tires? I drive a lot of straight highway to and from work (I live in the Orlando Florida area) and will only do some "spirited" driving on country roads on weekends --- no track time at all. Is it reasonable to think I'll get 20k miles on them before replacement?

I've never had HP tires before and appreciate the thoughts. Peace

Good guess. I would have put them at 18k, but I drive like an Italian. Ironically, my girl has put 25k on them and it looks like she will get to 28k. So it depends on how you drive.

WTF do you think. I'm Italian...and I drive like a fucking mad man. In fact; With an unconfirmed 10,000 plus deaths and over 1/2 million injuries on the road in 2009, Italy has one of the worst road safety records in Europe.

I've mellowed out with age too. In my youth I would never get more than 15k out of a set of tires. (No race/autocross) I wish I could learn to drive like my lady, as just one trip from me going to the store with half a tank of gas will bring down the TL Avg MPG's by 1.

Approximately 21,400 of the 31,900 miles I currently have on the TL are on the factory Michelin 19's. Based on current treadware, I'll easily get another 10,000 miles on them ... unless I pick up a few more nails/screws (both front/back drivers side) which might force me to change early. Plan on running these until I have to swap to my dedicated snow set-up and plan on (probably) changning to Continental DWS's next spring.

That is great mileage. We had one nail right on the edge as well (1/4inch away from 4 new tires). I worry about the tires ability to efficiently evacuate water out from underneath those thin groves. Will probably let Santa’s budget decide as we will not make it to next summer with these.

20k is about right - but only in the dry - wet and high speed - you wont want to keep em that long

I think you are right. We will pull them off sooner. I thought about keeping them for a track day/autocross, but I don't foresee any track time for that car ever. It’s a shame because they are one of the best street tires I’ve ever driven on. Unfortunately, the cost per mile is too high to justify.
