Eagle RS-A /TPMS question
Eagle RS-A /TPMS question
I have the OEM 19" Eagle RS-A's on my car (Elite/Advance rims) and in mid December my rear passenger tire was showing low tire pressure. If I added air, it would consistently lower until the MID warned me again.
I brought it to the dealer and they repaired the leak for $60 and rotated my tires as part of the regular servicing I was getting at the same time.
Now one month later, my front driver tire is showing low pressure, and I'm thinking its the same tire and the leak wasn't fixed.
When I called the dealer, they told me that they rotate front to back and this is a different tire. Seems odd that despite the recent cold weather, all 3 other tires are fine...
My question is are the Eagles directional or non directional? If non directional, then they would have to rotate in an X pattern and this therefore is the same tire.
My TL is the AWD.
Any advice would be appreciated...

Tire Rack.com has 5 drawings that show tire rotation for specific applications, check it out under tire rotation.
I don't think your tires are directional but you can confirm by looking at the tire, if it has an arrow showing tire rotation on the sidewalls the it is directional.

Tell me about it. I thought the same thing - but it was right before Christmas, my dog was not well and I just didn't have the time to care. Frankly, I was tired of the car nagging me every time I got into it. I needed a servicing as well so my car sounded like I got the high score in a video game every time I started it up.
That said, I'm not paying another $60 for them to repair the leak they didn't fix the first time...
Based on what I've read, the RS-A's are non-directional and the owners manual says they should be changed in an x pattern - so I'm going to question the dealer. Either they rotated my tires wrong, or they rotated them correctly and the tire they claim to have fixed was not fixed.

I actually have my Advance in for a tire repair today. They quoted me $44 US which I thought was really high. He said the 40 series 19" tire with TPMS is more expensive. Puts it in a different pricing category when they log the order. I usually get the road hazard but since these are the original tires (Eagle RSA's as well) there is no road hazard. I guess the higher price for road hazard is worth it when it comes time for new tires.

I should have said this in my last post, but I've been rotating my tires just front to back, not in any X pattern. I do it at home, I guess mainly because I'm a dork, and like doing it myself for some strange reason. My relatives and friends think I'm crazy, especially since it's included in most tire purchases.
I've had different shops tell me different things over the years with the different X patterns. IMO, I've had the best luck with even tire wear, just keeping the tires front to back on the same side, regardless of the car and type of tire.

I guess the "Primacy MXM4" is a newer generation tire than the "Pilot MXM4".
Most newer generation tires from Michelin have sunflower oil enriched tire compound, and the "Primacy MXM4" is one of them.
