Changing oem tire size

Oem size is 245 50 17 v rated. Considering a 235 55 17 h rated (130 mph) which is .4 of an inch narrower in treadwidth and .27 of an inch higher sidewall height according to 1010tires.com. Speedometer difference is .92 mph too slow. Looking at a certain Toyo 75k mile tire I found for $131. Female driven, she's probably never been over 80 mph. What other cons can be expected on this change?

Shouldn't be an issue, the TL is limited to 125 so no worries on exceeding the H rating.
Going with that larger size will also help make the ride a little more "cushy" but may make steering feel a bit more unresponsive and "jello" like.
IF the car isn't driven much, mileage warranties do not matter at all. I have had Continental DWS installed on my 04 TL in 2016 and they started dry rotting before I got near the 50K mile warranty. I had a puncture in 1 tire, ended up replacing the whole set but did get a mileage credit from discount tire as goodwill towards a new set of DWS 06+'s.
Also your main concern should be how well a tire performs. A "long lasting" tire may take 10+ feet longer to stop from 60 to 0 than a competing tire due to it's design. 10 feet is a lot when you need to stop in an emergency. As well how heavy is the rain in your area? Snow?

One of our members DMZ has said the General G-Max tire is one of the best tires you can get for the money. He lives in NY/NJ area so there's plenty of snow and bad drivers to worry about!

Luckily won't have to worry about ice and snow in Florida. Roads are in better condition that other states. The reviews are pretty solid for a $131 tire. Will check out the aforementioned general.

You have a lot of choices bc you are not in the snow belt....

If you are on 17's you can go for 18's. They look a bit better (18's) but they are not as cushy as the 17's.

Thanks for the input. Discount tire will match the online price I found for the Toyos. Basically $658 for a set of 4 out the door with road hazard warranty.
