Back to OEM size?

2017 TLX 2.4. I've been using 235/45/17 tires on XXR 530 wheels (17x8.25) for 2 years on my TLX. The tire and wheels previously came from a 2007 Type S. It's time for a tire replacement. Would there be any advantage to going back to OEM tire size for the TLX? Better gas mileage? Comfort? I'm averaging right about where the car is rated for gas mileage and I don't drive aggressive.

the 235/45/17's are smaller in overal diameter and circumfrence...this will affect your speedometer and ultimately miles driven.
the speed variance is 5% too fast!

you can still use a 235mm wide tire if you wish...just choose a different profile height

I think your car had three different wheel sizes available from the factory; assuming you're referring to an OEM size of 225/55 R17, moving back to that size *may* yield a very minor improvement in fuel economy; so small it may not even be measurable. That said, the 225 series tires may well be a bit quieter and will definitely be able to slice through snow a bit easier.
