about MRR GT5 wheels

Hi guys, Is it true that MRR's GT5 can not be put on the 4g tl? i've saw some threads here earlier and ppl talk about it but i just checked online the wheel has 5x120 bolt patterns and the offset seems to be in range. can someone plz give me more detail?

i really love those rims and I think the price is reasonable. They look awesome on Benz or G37 from all the google photos i've searched.

something related: since i am from Vancouver, BC, anyone knows where to order MRR with a lower price? We have just one local MRR dealer in town here but i've heard it's super expensive. (indeed, i am not willing to pay the heavy tax)

I am a newb to this forum, plz excuse if my questions have already been asked.

It seems the GT 5 only comes in 19" for 5x120 and those have an offset of 20 which is not advisable for the 4G TL.

From the same site they also list a 20" version. I guess they have more sizes now so the 19's should fit.

I would contact the manufacturer to see if they fit. 19"x8.5" version seems to have a 38 offset which could work, you need to get some assurances.

And as always, you should get a specific fitment guarantee from your retailer, with the right of return if it does not fit... Bolt circle, offset and width do not tell the entire story, brake caliper clearance can be an issue. You should also make sure you get hubcentric rings for the 64.1 mm hub and the right lug nuts. Generally, most after market wheels come with acorn seats versus the OEM spherical (ball) seat that the 4G TL uses. (Can someone confirm that lug nut seat type for me?)

See my post on the GT1's and look at the pics I posted yesterday. These are 19x8.5, 38offset. You can believe your eyes, or what the 'experts' say.

While it is probably true that the GT5's fit, it does not hurt to get an assurance that they fit. Call the manufacturer and get a fitment guarantee from the retailer. Even RonJon had issues with his first run of Legends, and had to provide, at no charge (props to him) 3mm spacers he had custom made to provide brake caliper clearance. He has since fixed the problem with his later manufacturing runs by decreasing the offset.

GT1's are not GT5's and I have had wheels by the same manufacturer in the same width and offset not fit the same car. The X factor is the brake caliper clearance and the shape of the back of the wheel spokes. It is the yellow shaded area, one that varies with each wheel design, that I am talking about.

Fortunately the TL does not have really big brake calipers, so it should not be an issue, but it never hurts to make sure with the manufacturer and/or retailer.
