I love the drop on your acura. Looks like on the picture no fender rolling. How much did it settle compared to stock? Did you go with Tein recommended settings?
#292
Thanks. Correct no fender rolling front fender is factory rolled on 4th gen's. -2 degree camber in the rear prevents rubbing its close. I am sure if I got the camber kit I would have to roll the rear fender. I dont know how much it settled as I never measured it. I took the coilovers to my local shop I can only assume they used Tein recommended settings.
#293
The inconvenient truth
Yeah you can use the natural camber from lowering to fit without rolling the fenders but the tires will wear faster. I also like the look. Fyi tiens recommended drop is aggressive while it's recommended dampening is not. Best off to lower it however much you like and play with the stiffness if you get the street advance.

HELP! Clueless newbie bout drop cash on 20" Vossens!
I've got money burning a hole in my pocket but I'm so afraid of making a mistake and buying the wrong offset. I've got a 2009 TL SH-AWD and unfortunately I'm stuck with the tires that Les Schwab sold me which are Toyo Proxes 4 - 255/35/R20 because they're almost brand new I just gotta make em work. But I'm now reading that perhaps they're not the best for obtaining the flush look I'm going after with the Vossen CV3's. If I have to buy the Tien Coilovers and/or roll my fenders that's fine with me! I have a friend who's eager to help and knows how to do all of that. But am I screwed with these tires or can I make them work? And if so, how wide should and which offset do I select to achieve this look or as close as possible....and with minimal fender rolling? The photo posted here with the Vossen Banner is what I'm going for. The other two photos I grabbed from this forum to show the type of fitment I'm trying to achieve. I don't want the rim pushing way out, I like that clean flush look. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Nobody seems to help when you go into tire shops. They're clueless and/or can't sell me what I'm wanting due to liability reasons
This is what I want my Black TL to look like!
This is the fitment I'm looking for and these Vossen Wheels are very close to the CV3's I'm about to purchase
This looks KILLER in my opinion! And also doesn't look like much rubbing issues either.

The inconvenient truth
Do you see the post above yours? Thats my car with the exact same tires. Toyo proxes 4 plus 255/35/20, mounted on 4x TSW 20x9 + 35.
So you can make them work if you have to. My fenders are not rolled. The fronts are fine but the backs only fit due to being at -2.5 camber and yes they do rub a tiny bit on occasion. Nothing major though.
Is that close to what you want?

I just bought my car 2010 TL FWD in October so a little late for the query below about the Hankoks....But the 245/50/17 Hankok Optimos (almost new that came with the car) suck wind! Hydroplane even at low speeds with just a little moisture on the roads and I can't wait how pathetic they will be in winter snow. I am looking for a used set of 245/45/18 Alpins for a trade for my GTI's 235/40/18 Michelin Alpins that are barely 2 winters and under 8000 miles old.
Wondering what effect a slightly narrower tire 235/40/18 vs. 245/45/18 will have on the TL if I get a set of 18" rims for it. Any insights?

Cruisin'
Simple but effective...
I haven't seen anyone with wheels like mine, on a TL. Maybe I am the first, or the first in my area.
For people who are wondering why I made this choice;
0) Presentation/Looks: I don't like the look of big wheels with small looking brake rotors and calipers.
1) Weight: Big wheels are usually heavier, which slows acceleration. Unless you spend some good money on VS Forged, OZ or something lightweight. My wheels are almost 7lbs lighter than stock. Stock wheels weigh 25.2lbs
2) Ride Quality: Bigger wheels tend to decrease ride quality due to less tire travel or deflection. Smaller tire sidewalls absorb less bumps, and in my area potholes are deepppp....
3) Cost & Fitment: They are affordable, work with stock tires, and near/same stock handling. I wanted my wheel offset to be close to stock.
After months of research, and more research I made my choice. So do your homework before purchasing wheels for your car.

AG Forged 510's 20x10 ET27...
Tires Proxy 4's 255 35 10
Lowerd on Tien SS with Edfc
Rubs on driveway entrance when the rear is flexed... Some fender work done ... But I'm getting more done to them because I want a flush look no gap. The front is OK but the rear rubs if I drop it any lower. Also running Hella camber -3.0... And not feeling it. Do you guys think I can go lower and bring camber to within spec without having major body work done? Don't want to go thorough the whole flare and paint business $$$$.
