17" or 18" Tires

For those who upgraded from TL's original 17-inch, 5-split-spoke, aluminum-alloy wheels to TL's original 18-inch, 5-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels do you find the road noise to be less, more, or about the same.

thanks

I did not upgrade, but I've owned cars with 16", 17" & 18" wheels and it all depends on your tire choices. Obviously the larger diameter wheel will be a harher ride on the road, but no matter what diameter wheel you put on a car, if you get those real thin side wall tires the rides going to be rough.

you n ever get somethign for nothign with tires...

if you want a smooth ride, ,you'll give up comfort. vice versa...

i had MXM4s on m y RL.... I kept the same wheel / tire size and "upgraded" to Pilot Sport A/S +. high perf all seaso... handling is TONS better.... slightly motre bumpiness... nothing that bad...but it's there....

I think the tradeoff was a win... on a scale of 1 to 10.. the smoothness was a 9 with MXM4s.. now it's a 7.5-8.

the handling was a 6.. now it's a 9
