'09 TL SH-AWD system tire width

I read that when putting tires on for tl's with the SH-AWD systems that the width must be the same or the rolling diameter must be close to the stocks. I have rims that are (front) 20x8.5 +35 and (rear) 20x10 +40 , I don't want to lower my car or roll fenders ect, I just want to keep it stock height, So i plan on putting tires 245/35/20 in the front but im not sure what I should run on the back, members please give suggestions for back tire size that is within the rolling diameter of stocks (245/45/18) and that fits without rubbing or problems with stock height as I don't want to lower or roll fenders.

back tire suggestions that fit stock height without rubbing or rolling fenders & that are within rolling diameter of stocks would be greatly appreciated!

you wont have rubbing issues if you are not lowered.

this is a pic of 245/35/20x10

will look funky if you are not lowered. it looks too stretched for stock.. IMO..

id say go with a square set.. you should dont put staggered on a awd..

You can calculate the height of the tire by using the diameter of the wheel and the specs of the tire. You need to keep within about 2% of original, less than 1/2" deviation.

so I assume 255 and larger would not be stretched?

So should I run 255/35R20 instead of 255/30R20 according to 1010tires wheel sizing tool?

stock wheel: 245/45R18: Overall Diameter: 26.68 in 677.70 mm
compared to

255/35R20: Overall Diameter: 27.03 in 686.50 mm
Diameter Variance: 1.30%

255/30R20: Overall Diameter: 26.02 in 661.00 mm
Diameter Variance: -2.46%

the 255/35 is 1.3% difference while the 255/30 is -2.46% which is pretty close to the 3% range limit.

or could I even run a wider tire with stock height with no rubbing like 265?

265/30R20 instead of 265/35R20?

265/30: Overall Diameter: 26.26 in 667.00 mm
Diameter Variance: -1.58%

265/35verall Diameter: 27.30 in 693.50 mm
Diameter Variance: 2.33%

Or possibly run 275/30R20 without a drop with no rubbing or problems? or are they going to be too wide? but there is not going to be a drop so it should be ok?
275/30R20: Overall Diameter: 26.50 in 673.00 mm
Diameter Variance: -0.69%

According to the Diameter varience my best choices that are within the 3% range are 255/35R20 with Diameter varience 1.30% , 265/30R20 with Diameter Variance -1.58% , or 275/30R20 with Diameter Variance -0.69%

which one is the best set to choose for my rear tires, will be going on my 09 tl sh-awd with no drop, stock height

I am leaning toward the 275/30R20 setup as its Diameter Variance is only -0.69% from stock.

Will these fit on my stock height with no problems as I am not going to lower it, so there would be no rubbing?

I would suggest you investigate a little further to understand how the AWD system works. You might be causing problems if you have a difference between the backs and the fronts. I don't know this for sure, I am just speculating, but I think you want to have same size on fronts and rears. I think the difference between the fronts and rears is possibly more important than the difference versus the stock tires. I also would be very hesitant to use wider tires in winter; the practice has usually been to use narrower tires in winter. Not trying to discourage you, just don't want you to spend bucks and get an inappropriate setup!
