Whining noise/ increases as I accelerate
This is my first time on anything like this. I hope someone can help me out! I have a 2009 acura tl. There is a low whining noise that comes from the left driver side tire. I'm not sure if its the actual tire. I hear it after I go 40 miles an hour and it increases as I go faster. I lifted the car up and took both tires off and put it in drive and accelerated the car, from what I can hear it was coming from the inner CV joint on the drivers side. The rubber boot is fine in the CV axle doesn't make any clunking noise. If anyone can give me an idea of what it could be, I'd really appreciate it!
Drive normally until you hear the whine loud enough that it is confirmed the whine. Shift your gear to N while moving. If the whine is there, it is your wheel bearing. If it's gone then it is your drivetrain(troubleshoot more later). Very seldom does bad cv makes whining noise. It either clicks or makes your steering wheel wobbly during acceleration.
propeller shaft whine? https://acurazine.com/forums/problem...-whine-902905/
If it was AWD I would say the prop shaft. Does it sound like you have a second exhaust? Easiest way is to find which side the noise is coming from then jack it up or use a lift (if you have one) spin the wheel and place your hand on the spring grip it tightly between two bands and if you feel a good vibration chances are its the wheel bearing or just spin the wheel fast in general and listen for a noise. How many kilometers/miles do you have? Might give me a better idea.
Check the tire also. Check to see if the belts shifted in the tire.

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me. If you're going at speed, try slightly turning the wheel each way. If it goes away when you steer left, it's the passenger side, and vice versa. Also, since it was the passenger side wheel bearing that was bad, as it got worse, the car would pull to the right if I let go of the wheel (calm down, just momentarily taking my hand off the wheel) at speed.
Likely the bearing- Having it serviced this week along with other items.
(maintenance minder A13= Oil, Transmission Fluid-3X ATF change unless my mechanic prefers full flush through disconnected cooling lines.)
Location of sounds can be deceiving. I had issue with propeller shaft. Whining when driven at highway speeds above 40mph. Drive the car until it makes the sound. Pop in clutch or into N and see if sound still is same pitch and sound level..No sound not tranny. Slow down when the sound is being made and see if it changes pitch but not volume until it goes away. If it does its probably driveshaft=propeller shaft. Acura did a remake of the shaft used to be park TK03 now TK05 with new barring. It may be a wheel bearing if its affected by turning. Hope this helps
Probably a prop shaft. Mines making noise as well at 30-40k sometimes if I'm going slow. So far the noise isn't bad but I might eventually change it once it becomes worse here at the shop. Hopefully the part at my cost isn't bad.
