Un-Learnin' the Short-Shiftin'?

Not sure if this even qualifies for the problems section, but I thought I remembered that this the 4G TL Auto learns the drivers patterns?
I've got about 12k on her now and it shifts too quickly out of 1st gear. It seems that unless I floor it, she flops in to second even if I try to give it more gas at under 10mph. Not sure if I am explaining this right or not, but it shifts before it should. If I try to accelerate a split second after I've initially given it gas from a stop, it just falls in to 2nd gear. Can I pull the battery cable and start the "learning" process over?

try driving in S vs D. Changes shift points significantly and feels much more sporty. I usually drive in S around town, though I am sure it is decreased mpg. Wife drives in D.
