I have an 09 and twice today when i went to close my trunk it beeped twice then opened back up, the trunk was empty and there were no obstructions. The only way i can get it to close is by holding it down while the beeping continues for 10-15 seconds. It is working o.k. now and seems to be intermittent. Is this a common problem or has anyone heard of this happening before? Thanks in advance.

 

sounds like it thinks ur key is in the trunk, which leads me to ask... is it? lol double check to make sure u dont have a 2nd key on a bag or something in there.

 

Oh how embarassing, thats it! at least I know it works. Thank you, Iv'e only had the car for a week now and now I remember reading something about that in the manual.

 

Ive noticed that if you have the key in your pocket and if its really close to the car it will also open back up. I think this is a really cool feature.

I actually didnt know that if u held the trunk down for 10-15s it will still close! haha

i've never had it where the trunk thought the key was inside, when it was in my pocket... maybe it's cause im short, and my keys are usually below the trunk opening? lol

i do notice that if i wash the car, and the keys are in my pocket, if water hits the door handle, it unlocks the car. makes sense since it works by conductivity.

Maybe instead of beeping it should say, "STOP!! There is a key in the trunk. STOP!! There is a key in the trunk".

They could use that "Step Away From The Car" alarm voice.

I wanna make thinks more personal....instead of the microwave beeping wudnt it be awesome if it said "food's ready"...similarly for the oven....or the dryer, instead of it going "crrrrr" at the end of a dry cycle, it could say "clothes are done"

it would make things so much more personal....its a work in progress
