Trip A Odometer does not Reset when Refueling

I have a 2009 TL SH-AWD

I have the setting in the computer so that the "Trip A" odometer will reset when I refuel, however, it rarely works. I think it works 2 out of every 10 fill ups.

I mentioned it to my dealer at the last service and they have no idea and want to keep the car for several days. Not that big of a problem to deal with such an inconvenience.

Has anyone had this problem and had it repaired?

Mine always resets after refueling. In fact, I was trying to figure out how to prevent it from doing so, perhaps you can explain?

Mine didn't seem to be resetting automatically after refueling, but it was because I wasn't waiting long enough. I had to put the car in gear and start moving before it reset. Ever since then it's been working perfectly. Mine is a 6MT, so if yours is an automatic, it may be slightly different.

You can personalize that setting in the MID. Select "Keyless Memory Settings", then "Meter Setup" then scroll to "Trip Computer Trip A Info Reset". From there you can choose either manual, with refuel or ignition off. More detailed steps are in the manual on pages 99-102.

That owner's manual is bigger than most copies of the Bible. I wade through it as I have the leisure time, but for goodness sake...it's huge.

And then they give you a Technology supplement and a Navigation supplement, like they couldn't get it all in the Bible.

LOL....

^ Very true! LOL

I've found downloading the PDF version at least allows you to easily search for the relevant information.

The service manual is two large volumes as well, each about the size of a decent sized city phone book.

You can get from the My Acura website http://owners.acura.com . If you haven't already, you'll need to register to gain access to the section where you can download.

I think there's a stickie somewhere that has the link to one without registering. I don't remember registering to get my copy.

There used to be. Acura/Honda changed the system and now you have to pay for that service.

The myacura thing is the only way to get an electronic manual. But only for the cars you have registered.

I wasn't aware of this. Next time I think about it, I'll definitely try to get it.
