Torque converter?
Torque converter?
I have a 2009 SH-AWD auto and when driving, I am getting some feed back from accelerator pedal and it feels/sounds like a gear is out of place. Typically happens when accelerating in city traffic....what does TC feel like when there is a problem.
A gear cannot be "out of place".
If you have torque converter issues you may experience symptoms of bucking and jerking at low to moderate speeds like what happens when a person is (unsuccessfully) learning to drive a standard. The TC clutch(es) may be coming on or staying on when they are not supposed to. There are many threads and posts on here about TC issues. The TC is not actually part of the transmission per se but it works very closely with the transmission. The TC is between the engine and the transmission.
If the TC is working as it should it allows you to be stopped while you have the engine running but the trans is still "in gear".
