Sunroof
Sunroof
Hello everyone
So my sunroof won't fully close anymore, I tried doing a manual reset to the sunroof and that kinda opened it a little more. so I took it to the dealer and they told me $160 was the price to get it fixed, then after waiting for 3 hours they told me it was actually going to be $430 because it wasn't what they thought it was. I don't know what they had to do to it but i said i didnt want the service done. Any clue on what I may be able to do? I got it to close now, but the tilt function doesn't work, I can get it to tilt, but only by pressing the close button until it tilts.

There's a TSB for the moonroof not closing and/or reversing direction. It has to do with too much friction caused by the drain channel rods, which causes the anti-pinch feature to reverse the direction of the moonroof. This could've been what they initially thought the problem was, but turned out being something more major. Why don't you ask the dealer exactly what the problem is then consider fixing it yourself, or taking it to another reputable shop and having it done for potentially half the cost?

You didn't state what year or sub-model you have but nevertheless, the TSB is for all 4G.
