Sound under steering column
Sound under steering column
HI All,
I'm the new owner of a 2010 TL Tech package. I notice when i'm eirther starting the car or shutting off the ignition, I hear a brief 'grinding' sound under the steering column. Is this normal? or is that something that should be moving that's not moving?
Any feedback will be helpful.
Thanks

I don't have the tech package, but I believe it can be set to manual or automatic. Check for a switch on the left side of the steering column. If there is not switch, then I don't know what to tell you. I have to imagine there is some way to disable it. When enabled, it should retract inward and upward when you shut off the ignition, and outward and down to your memory position when turning the ignition on.

So i looked on both sides of the steering column but do not see a switch. Is there a part in the steering column that's not working? Just a little bothersome to hear this sound before and after a drive.
