Solving Rattles
Solving Rattles
Always had rattles on the passenger side of the vehicle, the A B pillars and side panels. Took to the dealer couple of times and they never solved the problem. The last time I went in, they blamed the rattles on the lowered suspension, and said is not covered under warranty.
So, I am planning to take apart the panels and pillars myself.
Anyone here can help me out on how to take those pieces apart?

The below thread has a link to the "Body" section of the 4G TL service manual.
Don't know if it still works or not.
Inside you'll find instructions to remove the A, B, C pillars and all sorts of body panels.

The most common rattle on the 4th generation is that passenger side window switch. If you can remove the panel (just a few hidden bolts) and put some tape underneath that window switch, it will stop rattling. Also another major source of rattles is the roof liner, especially at the edges. Again, some tape underneath at the edges solves that problem. So what appears to be the A or B pillars, may be just the roof liner or that passenger side window switch.
