SH-AWD 6MT Synchros

Hey guys,

I need to replace my synchros on my 10 SH-AWD 6MT. I went to the dealer but I’m being told they are back ordered and may not be re-stocked ever? Do you guys know of any replacement options?

have you tried online like www.oemacuraparts.com

Additionally, why do you feel like you need to replace the synchros? Have you done other maintenance on the car like fluid?

I haven’t tried that site. Essentially, if I take the rpms up past 4500 and try to quick shift into 2nd or 3rd, it doesn’t quite want to go in. Even with the clutch on the floor. If I take it to redline and slam the clutch and snatch 2nd or 3rd it will grind. And yes, the pedal is completely on the floor. I also already have new shift cables also. I am about to replace my clutch next week as well and was planning to change the synchros then. I read that Synchromesh fluid may help, so that’s my next step also.

oh yea, the car is new to me, 2nd owner. I changed the fluid right away to Honda MT fluid also, but will be trying synchromesh.

Thanks so much for the synchromesh recommendation. I swapped the fluid and it shifts like a dream again. I can’t believe the fluid made that much difference! Also, good call on the parts website, I called and they said they could get any of the parts I needed. Thanks again!

NoventaCuatro any updates on using ACDelco's Syncromesh on a 4th gen TL Tranny? is it stil holding up? I'm curios since the only ones I've heard using synchromesh are 3rd gen owners. I want to try it on my 2011 6MT

The trans is still shifting great with the synchromesh. I would definitely try it in your 2011, mine is a 2010.

4g tl synchros

I bought a six speed manual SH all-wheel-drive TL about a month ago. I knew it had a couple problems but about a week ago, I noticed second gear was starting to grind if my RPMs were above 3000 and before I had the chance to really look into it I completely lost second gear. It’ll go in when the engine is off, but it just does not want to go in while the engine is running so I’m assuming my synchros are gone do any of you guys have recommendations for synchro kits as well as possibly a sleeve kit or any other recommendations for while I’m in there
