Remove trunk lid trim clip...

hi all,
Does anyone know how to remove the trunk lid trim clips (the one in red circles) properly (not completely destroy them)?

Those clips are really flush to the trunk lid trim and don't give me much room to remove them.
Besides, the rectangular parts are really giving me a hard time.
Thanks

just want to confirm, you meant scoot the clip to the left or right 1/4" not the rectangular pieces right?
Thanks.

That's how you remove the 1 rectangular part at the top edge of the lid. You remove those clips by pulling straight out if they have no flat slots. If they do, you need to wedge a butter knife in the slot and "split" the clip so the head lifts up and the clip shrinks.
