Questions about XM on the 2009 Acura TL Tech package.........

Questions about XM on the 2009 Acura TL Tech package.........

hello everyone,
i had a question about the entertainment system of the car....and hoping that some of you with this car can answer the question that I haven't been able to answer using the manual.

The issue is that my XM doesn't work! have called XM about 20 times. they send the signal (channel 1, open space, etc.), and nothing happens....i can't get any other channels aside from 0 and 1.

I've taken the car to the dealer.....after saying that this is an XM issue and not a car issue (cause i'm getting channel 1 content), i pushed them to do 'something'....so they ran diagnostics and said everything is fine.....

I called XM and they said sorry, etc. but i still can't get signal.

Note: XM is offering me the 3 months free premium service......could that be the reason the signal is not working as it should? Anyone else with this problem? (also, the previous owner had XM for the first 3 months when he bought the car new...so i know it has worked at least at some point in the car's history)

I am guessing that the problem lies with XM.. their customer service is the worst I have ever come across. It sounds like you aren't really activated. Do you ever see "Updating" on the screen when you try another channel?

Call XM (again) and make your demands clear.

thanks. yeah, sounds like you're right....their customer service is pretty bad. i've called literally 30 times so far...with about 100 signals sent (often more than 5 signals sent during each call). I've been hung up on a few times too after they can't figure out the problem. lol I make sure i'm in an open field, no buildings, no trees, etc. No, it doesn't say 'updating'

i'll call them again i guess....but i don't know what else i can say that i haven't said before....

Call their sales dept.(the 800# on channel 1 preview station) they're based in the states and seem the most helpful. Have them check your acccount to see what you're supposed to get. MY XM quit abruptly recently and after several calls it seems "someone" switched my XM radio account to "traffic only". I had cancelled traffic and weather about a month ago and kept the radio service so, because of that every time they sent a "signal" it would only activate the traffic function, NOT the radio. They solved it by cancelling my account and issuing a new account. They also have a signal "tech services" dept.

Screw XM! Possibly the worst CS experiences I ever had in my life.
We had 3 accounts with them and canceled them all. It took 3 calls to get out from under their thumb as the CSR HUNG UP ON ME for the first 2 calls. Had to call the US sales number to get the job done.

I called to cancel after my 3 month trial - and have it still running almost 2 years later..for FREE..so I love XM..(and never seen a charge on my CC either)

Every once in a while they slip up. Lucky for you.
To 09TL, try having XM cancel your account and issue you a new one. If you start over, I'll bet it will solve your problem.
