Angry Problem with rear underbody spoiler

Does anyone have the same problem?

My dealer's service dept doesn't seem to figure out how to install that properly.

There's a gap between the molding (the plastic strip) and the original rear (because they just snap the underbody spoiler on top of the original rear).

I looked at other installations (like in Camry). There's no gap.

Is it the problem with the workmanship? Or problem with the car? Or the underbody spoiler design?

I know on my rear bumper I had to tighten some of the plastic zip ties to suck it tight. Mine also came from the dealership. Now its a nice tight fit. Just look under your rear bumper and you'll see them. Or take it back to the dealer and get them to fix. Just more hassle free doing it yourself.

I just had mine installed today at a body shop. I think I know what you are talking about. There is a small gap between the rubber part and the bumper. Does anyone else have the same issue? Is it possible to use a super glue and seal the gap? Any suggestions?

Lightbulb New under body spoiler design

FWIW, I just installed the spoiler kit on mine and it seems they have changed the rear under body spoiler mounting. The instructions show two strips of the adhesive (on the back and side) and just two of the zip-tie clips (one next to the license plate and the other next to the wheel well.)

On mine they added two additional zip-tie/clips each approximately lining up just inside the left and the right of the reflector. An additional set of clips and template for drilling the holes was included, but nowhere in the instructions was there any mention of the additional mounting points.(Wasn't hard to figure out though.) That seems to be the spot with the gap in the pics above. I'm guessing there have been complaints about fitment and these extra securing ties have fixed it. I checked mine and it's a nice snug fit all along the back.

Maybe if you complain enough, the dealer will replace yours with the updated design that obviously secures the whole spoiler properly against the rear bumper. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics, but maybe the parts dept would let you see the difference between your and the new style.

Hope the description makes sense.

Thanks for the info stuart! So do you suggest that I go to the dealership and tell them to remove the bumper and add the mounting points at the spot where there is gap from the inside?
