Exclamation Passenger side front door sensor does not work

Hi all,

I just bought a brand new 09 tl tech last monday to mother its child, my 07 tsx tech.

I love the car so far and the auto pilot mode is crazy. Anyone else figure that out yet?

On a serious note, I finaly got time to play around with the car yesterday and today and after reading the manual i discovered that the hand sensor for the passenger side door and the button do not work. I thought they were disactivated somehow but if the driverside door works fine than nothing would be disabled.

I went back to the dealer as my face is familiar there and the sales man that owns the same car tested it out and came to the conclusion that there was something wrong with it. He even tested a floor model and that worked and he asked the product specialist who claimed that theres something wrong and that I should take it to service to get it fixed. They both said that it would be something small like a fuse or the key is not programmed. Im scared because I dont want the service guys toyin with my car when its still being breast fed.

Does anyone have any tips or clues on what it might be. If it really is a fuse I would rather change it out myself than bring it to service.

Can anyone point to the right direction? diy's? things to check? Someone help! Thanks

The 4th generation forum is pretty boring at least for the month or so I have been here. Probably has to do with the fact that the TL is not selling as well combined with the fact that its really doesn't have any huge issues otherwise you would have more cyber traffic as people will hunt down forums when they DO have problems.

With that said, I doubt anyone will be able to help as I tried searching for you but I think you are the only one with this issue or in my case I don't think I have even opened my passenger side door in the month I have owned the car. Only time it gets opened is if I have a passenger, but never by myself.

Why would you be apprehensive about Acura certified technicians working on your vehicle? It obviously has something wrong with it, you need to get it fixed. Whom else better to do the job?

Calm down and let them fix it, you will be happier in the long run, and they will do a great job.

I doubt it is the fuse. Everyone likes to think the fuse is a fix all. I think your handle is bad. That is what the problem was on my RL. Trust me, if it were the fuse something else would not work. Honda is not going to fuse one door handle by itself.
