P0796 - Hard Shift From First to Third
Just wanted to share this in case it helps. When it was cold out, the symptom is the car does a hard shift from first into what feels like third. There is a thunk as it shifts. When this happens I could use sport shift but the paddles did nothing, did not shift the car. This happened since I got the car. 2014 Acura TL SH-AWD.
Finally got a code P0796, which has to do with A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve C stuck off. Dealer had to contact Techline who said to replace secondary valve body. Now the car shifts with no problems. If you have a 2014 and are having shifting problems maybe have them check this out.

Did this happen randomly? How long before you got a code?
I want to take it to the dealer, but would like it to be happening when I am showing the techs as I have no codes or cels yet..
I have a 2012 TL SH-AWD, so far experienced this 2 times (in the last month of ownership), but after pulling over and turning the car off as soon as I felt the huge jerk/thump it must have reset something and drove normal after restarting.
