P0365 CEL - Camshaft position sensor
Hi All,
So I have this issue with my 2010 Acura TL. My check engine light came up and it says P0365 code. I went to Firestone for diagnosis and he said issue with crankshaft position sensor and needs to be replaced. Thing is he said it will cost me about $750.00.
I was browsing around and see it shouldn't cost so much. Can anyone please help me with how much does it usually cost to get it fixed and can I do it myself?
My warranty expires as well. Dealer says $145 for diagnosis.
Please help..

By the way I have about 45K miles on it.
Anyone please advice. I checked in AutoZone for compatible sensor and it costs $100. Repair guys estimated $580 as labor charge. Is this acceptable or did they quote way too much?
Please help

Unfortunately that estimate might be in line with reality. The sensor is located behind the cam sprocket. The timing belt has to be removed, etc, etc. The part cost only between $60 to $100, the rest is labor. See attached.

Just came back from dealer and he said this is not issue with Camshaft position sensor but there is some issue with engine harness and he recommended to replace it. Per his quote, its gonna cost me $1750
Not sure should I go to other dealer and have him diagnosis done and then take a call. Please advice

I wouldn't trust a dealer if they told me my car has a steering wheel. I have had MANY personal experiences that just make you shake your head in disgust.
A faulty harness is not very common unless it's damaged by accident or someone "messing" with it and burning out some wires. Any good mechanic has access to information for diagnosing your problem. Try searching for one that specializes in Honda/Acura. Search the internet for "2010 Acura TL P0365". Sometimes you'd be surprised what you find or how easy it can be to repair yourself. And when you do get it repaired please post the results in this thread to help others that might fall victim to this gremlin. Personally I prefer to know what is faulty before I bring it to a mechanic.

Ok, just got my car back. Had checked with other dealer and he fixed it for 400. Problem was with harness where 1 wire had issue. He fixed it and now its fine.
I tried to go upto 5000 rpm and I notice that it stalls at 5000 rpm when parked. Is this how it is or do you think it is not fully fixed?
