Odd "twang" sound from rear

I'm hearing a strange "twang" sound from the rear of the car occasionally when I turn right. I don't know how to describe it other than that. It sounds like if you "strummed" a long metal rod really hard.

I don't know that much about cars, so I can't think of the name of the part, but are there some kind of tension wires or rods in the rear that might be making that noise? Shoot me if that is a stupid sounding question!

TIA!

the rear torsion bar or sway bar could be the source of the sound. Check the bushings for the bar along with the endlinks.

This is a long shot, but check your tire pressures (cold) and see if they are far apart.

Thanks. I'll have to look at the service manual and see where those might be. Anything specific I should be looking for?
