Newbie...Fuel Reading Issue

Hello. I just got my 4G TL SHAWD about a week ago. Love it with the exception of the climate controls measuring in Celsius.

The other day I noticed an issue with the fuel gauge or something fuel related. When the car was delivered it had a full tank of gas. After driving approx 200 miles the gauge read basically empty. I filled it up and the pump stopped at around 8 gallons and the fuel gauge read full. I had the same thing to happen 2 days later.

I drove approx 500 miles out of town yesterday all of which was highway driving. But this time I filled the tank up basically until I saw gas coming back out. I did this twice and both times the car took around another 6 or 7 gallons. The gauge seemed to read accurately at that point. Also the avg speed and mpg is off as well. I set the cruise control to 75mph and it said my avg was 22 mph.

The dealer is going to repair it and thinks the gauge cluster needs to be recalibrated. I was thinking it could be something else bc I didnt think the gauge cluster would would have anything to do with the car having a full tank at 8 gallons.

Any thoughts?

Stop over filling the tank. Fill the tank until the first click.

I'd consider trying to do a factory reset on the headunit and the MID to get all your settings back to the factory options.

If the dealer is going to repair it I wouldn't even worry about what's causing it.

I am pretty sure that changing the temperature can be done. i.e. C to F.

For your trip odometers (miles, hours elapsed, mpg, avg speed): Do you have the car set to "reset on fill-up"? The function does not work properly and randomly resets.
Gas Gauge; I don't' have any experience with this issue.

Yeah never overfill your tank. Let the dealer worry about the repair. Sure seems like it needs to be re calibrated
