My 09 TL is making a high pitched noise on cold start up. I've had this problem for a while now. I made a video and you can hear it around 7sec mark.


Also, the check airbag system warning came on. I was wondering if the airbag recall had anything to do with this. Does anyone have a solution for all this ?

 

I had the exact same noise. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the starter. I haven't heard the noise since. Take it to your dealer and make sure to tell em that it only happens when you cold start....they'll have to duplicate the issue. I ended up leaving mine overnight.

 

I believe there is a similar thread but for a TSX and it was described or diagnosed as "starter over spin"

I had the same EXACT issue with my 10" TL SH-AWD.
The starter is smoked, have the dealer get you a new OEM starter.
Keep in mind, they come new or reman (remanufactured) from Acura.
I pushed for a new one, my SA was happy to oblige.
