Key FOB doesn't unlock doors or starts TL

My key FOB has just started requiring me to constantly "plug" into slot to start the car. In addition, trying to lock (push door button doesn't work), or unlock (no unlock as I grab the handle) doesn't work. This is sporadic.

Replaced the battery in the FOB. Everything was fine for a couple of days. However, it's started failing again. Original battery worked fine for about 45 days. Now, this battery only seems to have lasted about 3-4 days.

Do these things burn through batteries that fast? Or, is the FOB defective?

in the manual it says the battery should last 2 years. I think you have an issue with yours and should contact the dealer.

Check the TSBs. I recall seeing something about fob failure.

They ordered a new one and said it would take a couple of days to be delivered. As soon as it is, they'll call and said to drop by at my convenience and they'd program it for me. Said it would take 5 minutes.

I really do have a great dealer.

What the heck is a battery terminal garnish? You mean the red plastic cover for the positive terminal?
