Issue with driver side window in cold weather

Hello,

I've been experiencing an issue with my driver side window but weirdly, on in colder weather (sub freezing).

When the window is part way down, when I flick the window switch all the way to make it go back up automatically, the window goes up only slightly (I would say 1/4 of an inch) and then reverses and goes all the way down with no way of raising until il reaches the bottom. It is very annoying especially when the car has snow on it because that snow then falls into the car.

Anyone else has experienced this ?

hold the down button for 5 secs then hold up for 5 secs.

I believe that's the window reset procedure.

After you try that I would check with the dealer, I can tell you first hand it's incredibly annoying dealing with the window assembly and you're better off letting a tech take care of it if it needs replacement.

I have the same issue. Acura quoted me my limbs. I decided to live with it until it really stops working and I'll do it myself then.

This usually happens when there is resistance on the window when going up or down. The fix is usually either cleaning and lubing the run channel, replacing the run channel and/or replacing the window regulator in a worse case scenario.

I don't have an update yet as my issue only is apparent when it gets cold outside and it hasn't been that cold yet. So right now, it's working. I did the "reset" procedure but because it doesn't give any feedback, I don't even know that it did anything. I will report back when it gets cold !

I've tried the reset procedure listed, didn't work for me. So I went ahead and made an appointment with the stealer tomorrow morning to have it looked at. Let you know what they say.

This happens to my '02 TL, '12 TL, and my '14 MDX, but only once in a while.

There is no factory fix to it, because it's a random occurrence.

Lucky it's once in a while, mine is 8/10 times it happens, I pretty much avoid using the auto window now because of it.

UPDATE 2: Went to the dealer to have a look at it, apparently when the window goes down, at times it's a little crooked causing the auto up to not work.

They are going to change my window regulator under warranty and that should take care of it. I just need to wait a week for the parts to come in.
