Humming sound under light and moderate load; Intake box?

Hello everyone.

I recently started hearing a humming sound coming from the front of the car under light and moderate loads. I'm nearly positive that it could be the intake or airbox? I cleaned out the airbox (vaccumed out the induction tubing) and the filter looked pretty good (recently changed). I do have a really hard time getting the filter box to seat correctly and to get the bolts to line up. I read on here that the 3rd gen airbox gave people a lot of trouble.

The only thing is, it's inaudible while idling or revving while in park.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any tips with getting the airbox to seat right? I fiddled with it for a good 40 minutes....

Thanks in advance.

I drove the car for a day. Checked the bolts on the airbox, and one seemed to have loosened itself. I re-tightened and now the noise is 75% quieter. I'm wondering if it settles over time and just keep re-torquing the bolts? Anyone ever experienced their's coming loose?

So sounds like you just aren't tightening them all down properly and there is either an intake leak or the box is rattling against itself

Possibly. There is only so much one can tighten these bolts. Again, after driving it today, the bolt toward the front, engine side was able to turn again a quarter turn. I'm wondering if that will take care of the last of the noise. I have to admit, this airbox was the most pain the but I've ever tried doing. It seems such a trivial thing in the grand scheme of what I've done lol.
