Hestitation/gear slippage
I have the 2012 awd. Today I noticed under hard acceleration, I detected hesitation in the early gears. Upon the next stop I retested under hard acceleration. 2-3 gears I think it may have slipped. I,ll test out again tmr.
Anyone see this before ? It's at.

I think Honda has a problem with low gears in their auto transmissions in general. My previous car was a Prelude, and I experienced occasional jerky upshifts in the low gears, and now my TL sometimes does that too. I don't Honda ever perfected the AT like american automakers have.

I have a 2010 SH-AWD and it just starteddoing this. Under hard acceleration from 1st to 2nd the back screams and pulls back almost like the gear doesn't want to chnage and then it goes into 2ndbut it just started doing this and it seems odd. Wasn't doing this before. Could this be my transmission going?

I'm actually just starting to notice this in my 2012 AWD Tech. When you get on the gas from 1st to 2nd it seems like a premature first into second at like 2500rpm then a slight hesitation and then from 3rd to 4th sometimes i get a weird jerky shift where it's almost liek the RPM's go down, then shift into next gear and then accelerate. In all honesty I haven't driven anything but a manual in the last 6 years so I may be over sensitive. Anyone else having this problem or any follow up?

That sounds like a torque converting issue for sure. I'm thinking of taking mine back, but it's an hour and 15 minute drive to the nearest dealership

I thought only the pre-MMC TL's have torque converter problem !?

So I took the car into the dealer and they reflashed the PCM but my AWD light a P077 and oil indicator low level light came on since then car drove nicely and I could tell the change but now the other day I accelerated hard and it seemed like 1 to 2nd the rpm didnt go all the way to the red line 6800 but it felt like it was held back/hesitated but since then it's been fine. Wonder if they would do another reflash without those lights being on?

Ive got an 12 front wheel drive and I experience the same thing with the 1/2 gears...I had mine flashed and its no better.
Anyone know of a recall number to get the TC replaced? Seems like everyone is having this issue

Ive got a 2012 Tech FWD and ive noticed it. They did do a software update but it didnt help. I plan to go back soon and ask about the TC...i notice it about 50% of the time i drive. usually under acceleration.

Do you experience this in S mode using paddles? If it was a tc issue I'd think u would, but I've noticed D mode is simply terrible, truly the transmission is the worst part of this car for me. I only drive in S with paddles, and find the car much more enjoyable. The tranny in my gf's Camry is better

I started noticing this 2 weeks ago with the 1st and 2nd Gears. This was driving in sport mode with paddle shifters set at M1. I also notice no one has mentioned exactly which range of RPM they noticed the hitch in. I've experienced it 95% of the time at 5400-5500RPM. Within the last few days I notice this also occurs in normal drive model and sport mode without paddle shifters. Recently the issue has been occuring at RPMs as low as 4000 in drive and sport without the shifters. It's getting worst and worst especially trying to change lanes on the highway or entering ramps.
Now the question is has anyone taken the car to the dealer and had the issue fixed? How did you explain it to the dealer? What did they have to say? I have 62,000 miles of CPO warranty that should cover and 100,000 miles of powertrain warranty. However, I don't even want to go there and just have the CPO cover the fixes for the TC or Tranny if need be.
I'm scheduling an appointment and will update on this issue, there's no way any tech from the dealer can deny this issue once they road test it.
