This has happened two or three times. Cruising at 35-40 mph, slap the throttle to the floor and.....nothing for at least 1 to 2 seconds (feels like forever). It's like it's trying to make up its mind about what to do. 2012 FWD. Is this common?

 

Is this your first car with electronic throttle? Its hard to say if you are having a hesitation issue. If all you are experiencing is delay, I would say its normal.

 

Next time, try double tap the down-shift pedal-shifter while stepping on the gas. This will give much quicker reaction.

 

Yup. And an amazing sound. Gotta love it.

 

When it's in regular D mode I've noticed it too. I always thought it was an airflow thing.
