Help Identifying Oil leak source

Hey, Having a few problems with my 2009 TL @ 90,000 Km. I have looked in the "Problems and fixes" and found almost everything so far (slight belt whirring, front end clunk over bumps, dead battery). These problems are just beginning over the last year. i occasionally drive with no music just to check things and hear anything new. The latest problem i noticed is a pretty decent oil leak on the passenger side. I have googled all morning and haven't found any 09+ threads with the issue. My new driveway went so long without a stain, ahh whatever... :/

This has got me slightly worried. Main crank seal? timing belt tensioner?... It runs down the right side subframe and coats the exhaust in that area. steady drips it seems, 3-4 fresh ones overnight. I own a bunch of other new-ish honda vehichles, one of which has the same motor, and no problems like this at all. I have attached a few pictures.

I will try my best to describe the pictures a little better for location. The first picture is looking down the the motor from the passenger side. The only face with oil on it is where the flashlight is pointed with the etched black ID marks at an angle, you can see the oil has picked up some road grime. The second is under. I wiped off part of the subframe but the oil pan (infront of the engine oil arrow) and clean subframe section each are forming an oil drip. Lastly the only other section i could visibly get to without removing anything else was the area on the motor behind the oil filter. The area to the left of the filter where the bolt heads are is soaked, and the area to the right on the block face behing the balancer(?).

I can probably fix it myself, or take it to the dealer if something went wrong that they will fix. Im not new to forums, i know i'm not likely to get a direct diagnosis from just a description and 3 pics, just kind of looking for someone that has had the area apart and knows whats back there on this 3.5L, or what i can look into from past generations that applicable to my engine. My main focus in my garage is GM/Ford/Yamaha/KTM and thats what i know. I bought all 3 honda/acura new, an 09,12, and a 14. I figure id sign up because we keep our cars until they die or get smashed. My only other forum visits here are oil capacity, brakes, and tq specs for regular maintenance, which i think is great so far.

Thanks.

Take a ratchet, and10mm socket, remove two peace timing belt cover, look attention, probably it the oil pump seal, If it is, then it's a big labor, will need to remove timing belt, and the oil pan, probably about 7 hours, so if a small leak, then simply add oil, if large then immediately change your timing belt, tensioner pulley, water pump, gasket oil filter and oil pump gasket. If leaking seal crankshaft, it is also better to replace.

Sorry, the water pump is also desirable to change. If you want cheap, then 7 hours labor and $ 5 Pumpe Oil Seal. But I would recommend to do everything at once. My mechanic take for this work $ 350 + parts

Oil pump seal would be where I would start too. Ya if you cannot tell for sure. Degrease the whole thing and start a new.

Isn't the oil pump seal the hardest one to change?
Why not start with the vtec solenoid seal that is right behind what the oil filter mounts on.

Yes it's a pita to change .
But if you look on the pic with the tentioner . You can see trace of oil above that . Which means that the leak is comming from a higher point .
If the car had a regular power steering pump , I would say to check that for leaks. But it has electric power steering . So there is nothing to leak from that area that high.
I would address that leak when you will be doing the 105 k service .
Otherwise monitor it and make sure oil level is good .

Oof...yeah, I was dreading that on my last 3G TL...and I bought it just after the 105K had been done so I missed the opportunity.
No kidding...they are electric instead of hydraulic, huh?
Shit, my steering rack was leaking on that car too.
