Question Faulty Alarm Engage/Disengage Button

Own a 2009 TL. The alarm button on the passenger side door handle doesn't work. Don't know when it went out as I only exit from the driver side.

Any ideas on what it could be or how to remedy the issue?

Pull off the door handle and replace the button or check the wiring? Knowing Acura, you probably have to buy a whole new door handle.
