Engine will not start! ABS/VSA warning?

Was cleaning the car and left the stereo on for maybe 20min not even at loud volumes, then went to start the car and it refused!

No funny noises, the head light on the left flickered then turns off. The check ABS/VSA warnings come up. The Navi screen comes up normally then shuts off when I try to start the car. Pressing the start button to go to stage I and II the car behaves normally.

I checked a few fuses nothing seems blown.

My question is could this simply be a weak battery? It is the OEM from 2009 but just seems so strange of a behavior. If not the battery it seems like the electrical system shorted out somewhere?

Any ideas? I guess I'll just have to have the car towed to the dealer since it is still under extended warranty.

That happened to me when I had my 09, jump the car and it will be fine but your battery is starting to fail. If its under warranty take it to the service department and tell them what happened and they would check ur battery.

Not yet, but wouldn't the advanced battery management system (whatever its called) give me at least a warning or prevent this?

If that's how dead batteries show up in the TL, it's a bit concerning but I guess it could be.

A battery in that condition/voltage would make any car behave that way. Put a battery charger on it or get a jump and see if it starts.

I don't think the 2009 has the BMS system. I thought it was introduced to the TL in 2012.

Either way, your battery is at least 3 years old, and the OEM batteries are failing anyhow. Mine was replaced last year, the car was only 2 years old with 16,000 miles on it!

This happened to me a few nights ago. The car will say something about the vsa and then not be able to start. It's your battery.

The days of washing a car and playing the radio are over. With external amps, there is just too much power being drawn from the batt. I just use my iPhone and bose Bluetooth speaker. Problem solved.

this^

Can't sit in the garage with the car in ACC mode. Need to be on a road trip to burn CD's into the HD with these crappy little Acura batteries. Luckily dealer caught mine before it was DOA.

The OEM battery in my old Matrix lasted about 6 years before crapping out. I just had my TL's battery replaced last week, but there's also a lot more tech in this car so that doesn't sound too out of the ordinary

Yup it's the battery, I'm an idiot. The keyless start and all the electronics really masked any signs of a weakening battery.

I also had this happen to my one day old, 25 miles on the odometer 2013 TL. I'll have to get the battery checked soon as I live in AZ where batteries die quickly in the summer!

I had my key in accessory position for about 10 minutes. The check VSA indicator came on so I turned took out the key. When I tried to start the car two hours later, it wouldn't start.
It's a 2011 TSX that I bought used. The orginal manufacturer's bumper to bumper warranty expires in about six months. Does anyone if the battery is still convered by this warranty?

UPDATE : looked at the warranty manual . The batterys are still covered.
