Anyone experience engine stalling, unusually long starts, and or the engine shuttering in-between N to Drive, or Drive to Reverse?

Im not sure if perhaps I have a batch of poor quality fuel (93 octane around here) ..... odometer reads 57500 miles. Just had the car in at Acura, they did not need to adjust valves per their tech. Kinda a bummer... i've been having those issues for a week now and its most annoying. Refilled the tank and still no progress. Don't think that STP engine clean out (Or product of the like) is going to fix this. I'd be surprised.

i know you said the dealer checked it but if it stalls to start you think the battery could be a problem what is your current temperature and have you ever changed the battery?

 

90 degrees the other day when that first issue happened....that morning I topped the tank off. The battery is two years old...Acura 100 month. Its not the battery, more likely carbon buildup & Bad fuel.

 

1. do you purchase gas from one specific location?
2. what gas station?
3. and what grade do you purchase?

I have a 2012 TL that has developed the annoying habit of deciding on it's own when it will and will not run. Sometimes it is just sitting there i go to start it up and it will not. I come back and hour later and it is fine. I am riding in my neighborhood and it just stops. I drive on I-95 with all the other 80mph maniacs and it stutters then stalls. Of course the dealer is very nice but can't find anything wrong. Can anyone offer some light and advice on what to do? I am ready to ditch it. I thought Acura's were good cars?

 

No I've had terrible problems with both my TL and my old RL... never again.

What happens when it dies? What happens to the electrical systems? Do you have any lights that come up?

It sounds like fuel delivery and or electrical issues.
