Engine Fan

Hello All,
I was wondering how often you engine fan comes one because I am wondering if I have a problem. When I come to a stop while the AC is on, my engine fan comes on for ~20 sec them goes off for ~7-10 sec them comes back on , and repeat. It is so regularly occurring that I have time to count the seconds at each traffic light. Just want to make sure than is not a normal thing before I go to the dealer and have him look at me like I am crazey

My 11 does the same thing. So I assume the fan is operating normally.

The 12 does the exact same thing. It's the radiator fan and it's electric and thermostatically controlled. Awfully loud too. It doesn't do it when the car is in motion, i.e., at sufficient speed to get proper airflow.

Mine does the same. It's normal, especially in stop and go traffic.

i think this is standard for all cars.. lol when your not in motion.. there is nothing to cool the engine down.. thus the fan needs to turn on when temps hit a certain degree.
