"D" light indicator

Has anyone seen their "D" light go bright and dim? This when you are driving in the D gear. Manual says if you see this, it is a possible problem with the transmission. If you see this and your Multi function display says, "Check Transmission" it means there is a problem.
I have only seen this occur a couple of times, but have not seen it again or at least noticed it.

Are you sure it's not because the headlights came on as it's getting dark outside and things got dimmer in the cabin? I have not noticed what you described with mine.

If you are right OP, I would get that checked out ASAP.

It occurred during day hours, so it is not headlight related. It was like the D light would go bright for a moment then dim. It was very intermittent, but have not noticed it lately. I was watching it today, and it did not happen. Some kind of anomoly.
Thought it might have been related with "vibration" that some people are talking about, but when I get the vibration, the D light stays the same.

It gets brighter and dimmer based on the ambient light. I have noticed it does not change at the same time as the headlights and the nav screen changes at a third time -- seems they all have different logig on acceptable brightness. I'd prefer the 'D' to dim slowly instead of change so abruptly, as it does catch your attention...

It will sometimes change if you go under a bridge, but the headlights won't come on...
