It seems like the little door (?) that closes over the cupholders does not open far enough to get a drink in the rear holder?

I looked on the Acurawebsite interactive site and it shows it opening so that you don't see the gap between the handle and the next partition.

On mine, I still see the second partition and it makes it difficult to put a drink in there.

On the underside of the first partition is a plastic flange that restricts it from going in any farther?

Anyone else have this issue?

 

I just checked mine and do not have this issue. The tab on the accordian top goes all the way back and becomes flush with the inside rear of the opening. In other words, the lid opens as wide as the compartment.

It's probably hung up on something inside. I'm sure the dealer can easily fix this.

 

Do you have that plastic flange underneath the accordion door?

That flange is what is keeping door from opening all the way. It hits the back wall of cupholder compartment.

 

I'll have to check later but I don't remember a plastic flange underneath the accordian door. It probably doesn't as it can go all the way to the back, giving full access to, say, a 20 oz bottle of Coke. I'll double check.

 

I checked and it does have the plastic flange below the accordian door. However, the flange fits into a space that is opened up on the rear vertical wall of the cup holder space so it does not prevent the accordian from going all the way in.

NP. You can also check the cars they have on display in the show room so you can easily point out the defect to your service advisor.
