Corrosion on aluminum subframe and rear knuckles due to road deicers?

Hi:

I just acquired a 2010 TL SH-AWD 6M and I am a little concerned about the aluminum chassis components. The Washington State DOT and my city both use sodium and/ or magnesium chloride on the streets as a deicer. This stuff is deadly on unprotected aluminum. Can anyone tell me:

Have you seen corrosion on your aluminum chassis parts? If so..../ how bad is it? Where do you live and what sort of road chemicals are used there in the winter? How often do you wash the underside of your car?

Does anyone know what surface treatment Acura uses on these parts, such as clear "hard anodizing"? http://www.superiormetals.us/hardcoat-anodizing.htm

Can someone recommend a good aftermarket solution that I can apply myself, such as Boeshield T-9? I have used this in the past with success, and I think a good cleaning and coating with T-9 in the Fall would provide decent protection. http://boeshield.com/

Thanks for any and all comments.

BTW: how do you post a poll here?

OK, I figured out the Poll, now I can't edit my first post - what's with that?

BTW: I made it possible for folks to vote more than once, so you can report back if you inspected and found corrosion, or not.

Are they using salt on the roads or that chemical w/sodium like we use in Portland, OR?

I'm pretty sure Spokane uses magnesium chloride solution. Seattle is using sodium chloride.

in toronto, canada, we use salt, and a brine solution of some sorts, as a preventative spray before the snow comes down or before it goes below freezing temps.

i know out west in canada they use sand instead.
