Center vent misaligned problem

I'm wondering if this is a common problem in the TL. My center vent bottom left corner is raised up and not flushed. It's disappointing for the fit n finish to be so noticeably off. Can anyone chime in if the dealer will be able to fix this? If yes, is it a simple solution?

I'm right with you that this would bother me a lot, but I can assure you of two things:

(1) No one else in your car would notice this and;

(2) Asking the dealer to attempt to dismantle and re-align your dash will almost certainly result in unwanted squeaks and creaks to follow as it will never mesh back together like from the factory.

My recommendation would be to try and ignore it as best as you can.

Well this is certainly annoying. I just rode in the new TSX during my 1st oil change and compared the center console. While the TL looks better overall, the TSX did not have any fit issues that I could see. I can't believe Acura let their higher model leave the factory like this. My 2nd gen TL also did not have this problem. I guess I'll just have to try and ignore it, but my OCD might get the better of me.

Its because the TL is assembled in NA.

my has it too, it's annoying I bought some trim removal tools and will take the center dash out to see if it can be aligned better. I think though that it is the way it lines up and there will be not much play in it.

Agree with the comments regarding the TL being up there in Acura line up and having issues like that. 2nd one is annoying rattles, I can't believe for a car with that price tag and all the rattling issues.

TSX has similar issues as well

My girlfriend's '11 TSX has this ever so slight line up issue where the dash meets to the nav control panel, it's only something I noticed (she couldn't even tell) But you're right, very annoying... one of those things, quality control shouldn't let that pass with a luxury car.

Pop it open the rest of the way. Might come in handy some day. Looks like a good place to hide weed.

^^^^^

But the owner has to make absolutely sure that the ventilation fan is never switched on, or else the DEA dogs can sniff it out from miles away.

Arrrrgh!

Old thread, but I must chime in...

Loaner I had (2013 model) had this issue and I kept thinking to myself, as I was trying to push it back in repeatedly, "man, I'm glad mine doesn't have this issue."

Get my car back and looked at it. Yep, same issue. Arrrrgh!

I may take it out and add some "meat" to the clip one day, hoping to increase the friction. I'll let you all know if it is easily fixed, and the method I used.
