My 09 TL is about a month old, got about 3500KM (Canadian) yet when I go over the slightest speed bump or even bumps in the road I get a lot of cabin shaking noise, like you can hear the leather/plastics shake all around while going over the bump.

Does anyone else experience any cabin noise or shaking ? Is this normal? My 05 Cavalier with 130,000km doesn't even really have this happen,

What option do I have? Have the dealer rip everything apart to fix this?

Please let me know any thoughts or suggestions.

Some of this exists, but overall it's a pretty rattle free car. You'll have to let us know where you hear it coming from for us to help you pinpoint some of the more common rattle areas.

I have a bad rattle from the hinge of the sunglasses holder -- I'll get mine into the dealer in the next week or two. Took me forever to pinpoint, as sound can bounce off windows, etc. and appear to come form areas it is not. Nearly drove me mad trying to find it (and people thought I was crazy driving over the bots-dots for miles...)

 

I feel like I hear the leather seating shake for a second and feel its the entire cabin while I go over any bump..and at 3500km only?

 

I think I isolated it somewhere to the passenger side, guess it sounds like the whole car when it happens, but its either the seat/door area in the front...are people getting this?

I know eventually the car will have noises as will any car but isn't it WAY too early? and I dont want the dealer really messing around with it and scratching up stuff etc.

Any thoughts please?

 

Only rattle I've encountered is when the sunshade is OPEN, & the sunroof, is CLOSED.
Brought it to the dealer, & he test drove the car with me in it
He heard the rattle, & said it was the 1st one he's encountered.
FYI: had the exact same rattle, in my '05TL, & '01, & '98 CL's
It's actually more of a squeak, than a rattle
What the tech's do is lubricate the hinges; it works for a while, & the sound re-appears.
If that's my only problem, so be it; it's annoying, but not aggravating
Dealer claims, at my next service, they'll diagnose , & repair permanently; we'll see
