I just installed some Magnaflow Mufflers into my 4g TL. Soon noticed loud cabin drone in acceleration in between the 1500-2200 RPM range, where it is hard to talk to the person next to you. I loved the quiet cabin before the mufflers came on. Is there a fix to this? Currently the only exhaust mods I have are the Magnaflow mufflers, mid muffler delete and Dynomax resonator. I had the mid muffler deleted and the resonator replaced first to test the sound. It was too quiet so later on I got the mufflers. Once the mufflers came on that's when the drone problem started. Is it because it's an auto and not a 6 speed? Or does it need some more time to break it in? I have read about this on a 3G forum but have found no fix yet on 4G Acura forums..

Any help would be appreciated!

 

when playing with exhaust, you're doing exactly that. Playing and experimenting.

either go back to stock mufflers or add another resonator.

this isnt a fun game, because you'll ALWAYS dislike something and then change out a part. causing more headache!!!!!

so either add more resonators like that dynomax or go back to stock mufflers.

 

Thanks for the reply! I love the sound but hate the drone which SUCKS!! But I'll try what you suggested. Would the other resonator go on where the mid muffler was piped through?

 

the bigger the resonator, the less "noise" it makes.

see, you are going to be experimenting...

add a resonator where ever it may fit!

so, if the largest one you can buy fits where the mid-muffler goes....
but the exhaust shop will do that for you.
