Bearing for my climate control fan went out?
Hey all,
Just started getting this noise driving a bit earlier this morning. Seems like the bearing for the fan is giving out. I took out the air filter and felt around the fan, but it wasn't wobbly and there wasn't any debris there or anything that I could see. Is the fan easy to replace? I know it's a pretty cheap part (sub 100 dollars) but it looks like it might be kinda difficult to remove everything and work on it. Any ideas?

Is my diagnosis correct?

Sounds like the fan to me. But I haven't had mine go out so I can't say for sure. However, I can't imagine what else would start making a noise like that once you start up the fan.
Here's the instructions for removal and replacement:
You could go OEM but for something like a blower motor, aftermarket is probably just fine. RockAuto has them starting at $37.

The noise stopped! I don't understand why or how but All day yesterday I was on high heat, high fan when stuck in the snow for like 2hrs and not a single bit of grinding noise at all... Hmm.

Sometimes you can get dirt or debris stuck in the fan and it can create some nasty sounds.

Not highjacking thread.. 🤪
To piggyback on your issues my issue is that A/C blows fine through passenger vents, both front floor vents but blowing only slightly through passenger air vents and rear.. I checked the cabin air filter and it’s fine.. is there a separate fan for passenger upper vent and rear?? I’m stumped.. TIA
