Hey All,
So, Leased an 09 PM TL SH-AWD with 22,000 miles last month from an Acura dealership in New Rochelle NY. The car, which looked fine at inspection and pick up because it was rather dark out turned out to truly be a car a 4 different shades of Silver. WHAT CAN I DO? Is it considered a lemon or is it one of those bad factory batches which has the bad honda/acura paint job and is the Dealer responsible to make payment or repairs for repainting??!! any help and/or information would be greatly appreciated.

BluMagic89....I really hate to say this but its hard to blame the dealership from something they didn't intentionally hide. I know you bought it when it was dark but I think you should have waited to re-inspect it the following day, never bought a car on impulse and especially not having the chance to inspect it and walk around it - Especially a used vehicle! Now if the dealer prevented you to see in th elight, that would be different. I know it may not what you want to hear but that being said, we all have a certain amount of responsability and can't blame others for our mistake.
Hope I didn't offend you, just speaking truthfuly.

FYI: This is a completely acceptable practice by Acura. Even CPOs can have multiple different repaint locations and still be considered CPO. CPO means the integrity of the vehicle meets their somewhat robust standards, but repaired dings/fender-benders are A-OK! ![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)
I had originally purchased my TL online...BIG MISTAKE. The car was SOOOOOO f*cked that the dealer took it back, and I bought a WDP in its place. (Smithtown Acura in NY, FYI)
I was able to exchange the car because I was incessant in demanding resolution to the matter, but this car had BALD tires, 2mm pads, gouged rotors, cigarette burns on the interior, and 3 repainted sections that were orange-peeled to the orchard and back (oh, and I can go on!), so the damage was far more extensive than paint for a "CPO". It's up to you how you handle it, but Acura will ask you talk to the dealer FIRST before calling their corporate line. Whatever you do, REMAIN DIPLOMATIC AT ALL TIMES. I did, and it worked out in my favor.
Good luck, but you may be eating this one.

Thanks for the input guys...however,
Weather-
I did ask if the car was in an accident because it did look slightly off tone but i knew Honda/Acura paint jobs weren't the greatest (should be tho when the car is $46k new) anyway, he said the title was clean. I'm not calling the salesmen a liar i figured it was just the reputable paint job and not an accident. But its the whole back half of the right side of the car, its a paint mismatch. The front door, fender and pillar are lighter than the back door pillar and fender, its like that side was sprayed more than the rest of the car!!!
the VINS match and there are no sign of it being in an accident (i.e spot welds, rough patches in paint, noise in the cabin, and there's no popping out of connected parts like the fender, hood latch and so on) all parts fit well. IDK what to do with this paint.

BluMagic, I would definitely see what the dealership will do for you. Whether it be repaint the car to your satisfaction or putting you in another TL. Just be calm and patient while working with them, don't get mad-hopefully, they will work with you more that way.

Hey guys.....i know its been a while since last posted on this thread, but I finally got to the dealership and confronted the sales manager and appraisal manager. I went to Acura for engine coolant and decided while I'm there I needed to get this paint issue off my back. I go to the sales dept, park outside on a slant (with bad side of car facing the showroom) and before I even get out of my car 2 salesmen and the branch manager approached me. I told them the situation and they immediately pointed out the car should not have been sold like this. The appraisal manager said he will take care of it, that it is a disgrace the car was sole to me like that. They also threw in my first oil change freee! :p I dropped it off today and they are bringing to a body shop that deals with Acuras. Should be ready in about week....Hope all goes well. They better take care of my babay. Ill post before and after pics as well.

Lol, nah they sanded down the door, rear right quarter panel and the rocket molding and repainted it from there. Not taking the car back til its to my liking. They just called me and said its ready but I'm going to pick it up tom. I want it to dry properly. BTW the car is an 09 TL Tech SH-AWD that has 23,000 miles on it. Not a whole lot at all and they also warranties it til 75000 mile but i am giving the car back at 68,000 miles. Also threw in VIP service and 15% all parts and service. Not too bad for my Acura. Ill post those pics later this week : )
