I'm currently doing a 3x3 flush with my 2012 TL 3.5. I drained 3.25 quarts and put back in only 3 quarts and when I do the normal atf check procedure(radiator fan on, ground level), the dipstick shows atf fluid past the max dot. Is it supposed to be like this?

 

Interesting. I've done this service many times on my base 2012 TL and many other Honda V6 trans and its always spot on the max dot when I refill with 3 quarts.


How far above the max dot are we talking about?

 

Did you drain the tranny fluid with the car hot? Your not supposed to do it while its cold. It wont hurt it to be a little bit above fill level. Did you go through all the gears and then check the level again?

 

Hmmm. Mine take exactly 4 qts to reach the max fill using the service manual procedure.
