Anyone having problems with side mirrors?

2009 Base Tl with Tech
25000 Miles

Both my driver and passenger side mirror's won't tilt when i shift my car into reverse. I tried moving around the mirror's with my hand to see maybe if they were stuck on something and even tried resetting the car but still not working. I've put the car in reverse and than moved the switch the the left and right and still nothing.

Anyone have any idea's of what to do?

You have to click the button that you use to adjust the mirrors with to the left or right to select which mirror you want to tilt down. It doesn't do both mirrors at the same time, you can select left or right.

Thank's petec but i knew that you have to adjust the button to what side you want to tilt down but the problem is that no matter to what side you adjust the button to it won't tilt down.

If this problem is recent then I guess you should check it with your dealer

Reviving an old thread here...Wife has been complaining about the driver memory seat and mirrors occasionally not working. I drove the car for a week and she's was right. the driver 1/2 positions didn't work for a couple days as well as the mirrors (would not work at all). Then, without reason, they started working again.
Anyone else experience this???

Ya I've experienced it on the wife's car as well sporatically. When I have driven the car and then the next morning my wife opens the door to get in and it stays in the#2 (my) drivers position. So she has to push the driver #1 botton on the door for the seat to adjust.

Take the problems to the dealership, while there's still warranty coverage.

We all pre-paid for it when we bought the car.

For the auto reverse tilt feature to work, you have to remember to put the switch to the side you want it to tilt when you shift to reverse.

To tilt the driver’s mirror, place
the selector switch in the left
position.

To tilt the passenger’s mirror,
place the switch in the right
position.

If you leave it in the center position, the feature is off. See Manual page 168 (2012 TL model)

As for the memory seat not working, you might have changed the setting and not saved it. Everytime you change the setting, you need to store it to #1, or #2 again.

If you change
the memorized position, the
indicator in the memory button will
go out. To keep this driving position
for later use, you must store it in the
driving position memory. (Page 172 in the 2012 TL Manual)
