Angry Alternator and battery died

My 2012 TL alternator died and car was running on the battery, now battery died as well.

If i will put a new battery (from my 06), how many miles would I be able to drive it to get to a dealer or so?

Any advice?

Thanks

Before you pronounce your alternator dead, check the fuses. Not sure which one is the alternator one but there are diagrams under the covers etc. A fully charge battery won't give you too much, maybe 5-6 km so don't risk it.

Reserve Capacity on the battery is how long it will run from full charged @ 25 amps of current in an 80°F-environment, before the battery is discharged down to 10.5 volts. IF you can drive with no alternator w nothing on probably I would count 50 percent after starting it of the minute reserve. My mom made it 40 minute drive to my house to put another alternator in her crap grand am back in 90s.

I wish I didnt sell my other battery, I would have turned off my alternator and see how far I could go.
