Air conditioner air throw feels weak
Summer is finally here and have started to use the AC for the first time since buying the car CPO 6 months ago. Have noticed the air throw out the AC vents is very poor. My older car is a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe with 200k on it and with the fan on the second speed, I can feel the air on my face. However, in my TL, I need to crank it all the way upto 4/5 fan speed to just start feeling the air near my face.
I took out the cabin air filter and it looks brand new. Even without it in place the air flow out the vents is poor.
Is this normal? Im very disappointed if it is.

Haven't ever driven a Hyundai older than a 2014 or so, but I haven't noticed any major difference between the TL with 100s of the cars I've driven/rented over the last couple years (basically I've driven every main stream non-exotic luxury brand in the last couple years as rentals), although I usually just leave the climate control at a certain temperature and set it on auto... You have a CPO warranty - drop it off at the dealership and have them check it out if it seems like it's not normal.
Try using Auto - it seems to shoot air over the front wind shield and into your face. I am going to try Auto this summer because it will check GPS data for the location of the sun to cool air to that side of car more. I have noticed in the summer that if you set temperature of your car, it seems to heat up fast when you turn off the car. I am assuming that if you choose a temp, it tries to maintain it. i.e. 18 C / 64 F In the summer, I now often set it to the lowest setting. This means it will shoot cold air regardless of the temperature inside the car.
New Freon And GPS Link Climate control
Any Acura with the technology package has a built in navigation system. This is tied to your climate control and does indeed take into account the position of the sun for a more controlled climate.
The A/C doesn’t work as well in new cars as in older cars because of the recent transition to a more eco-friendly refrigerant (R-22 to R-410A). This is noticeable during the summer when your car is idling and doesn’t blow very cold air, but works progressively better the faster you drive. Once you hit the highway for 10 minutes the triple door seals and acoustically laminated glass help keep the cabin insulated. So for longer commutes, it works great! But if you live in a city and have to drive 20 minutes to work, not incredibly ideal.
