Acceleration and rattles in 2009 TL w/tech package

I recently purchased a used 2009 TL w/ 8,500 miles. I am now noticing that when I press the accelerator down there is a long delay before the car registers and begins to accelerate. Also, during rush hour stop and go traffic when I take my food off the gas to move to the brake I feel a jerking sensation as the transmission shifts to lower gears. I also am now getting intermittent loud ratlle noises coming from the dash. Any body else experiencing these issues?

I purchased my TL AWD new in 09 and noticed that there are some non responsive points when accelerating. I push on the gas and there is little to no acceleration with a vibration in the dash as the engine rpm seems to be low.

its normal. you just have to apply more gas pedal than you may be used to from your previous car to get the car to downshift.
Has to do with how the gearing of the car is set up.
The car would def have beneifited from a 6 speed automatic

Do you also get the vibration in the dash when the car is lugging at low RPM from this dead pedal area?
I do feather the gas pedal to get it out of the band but i'm not happy about having to do that.

I get the vibration.....usually about about 900-1000 RPM's. It's a dead area in the car. I don't like it either, but have learned to accept it. It is what it is! No car will ever be perfect.

Remove the intake resonator and the hesitation will go away.... worked for me.
